Why I Have This Website

What makes you speak? What keeps you silent? What are you afraid of?

I seek the people that want to know who they are, and what makes them think the way they do.

If I help you question or learn something about yourself- my mission is complete.

I have always craved connection and believe I have a true ability to speak with someone and deeply understand them. Everyone has a core essence that can be unearthed. Some people try to bury their core selves more than others, and some methods make the excavating easier to execute.

I know that I can reach you and translate your life into physical form. Everyone has an inner noise that requires expression- but not everyone can accomplish this artistically. We all deserve to know what our inner self looks like and feels like. We all deserve to hold it in our possession. I can help you learn more about yourself and what matters to you, as well as creating an object to commemorate how special you and your life's journey are.

Window Inspiration

I started a new sketchbook late last night in my kitchen as I was having tea. I was gazing around looking for a still life, only armed with a pen from the dollar store. I saw the window, cliche for me, but I tried hard to push my thoughts since there really is something poetic about windows. Whenever I hit a road block I use my past as food for thought, I think about my childhood. I think about how I grew up different from others. I think I looked out more windows.

I was always reflecting while looking, it was never just staring just to stare or admire space. I loved to overthink to the point where I forgot where I was. I enjoyed it. The thing about windows, (I realized last night) is that you  see the outside while also reflecting the inside physically-reflections of images on the glass. A window is not just a one way perspective to which you can see outside.  It requires an inside, a past, a history to orient itself in the divide.

Otherwise, it would just be a wall with a hole.. The reciprocity of an open window- inviting the outside in as you breathe it right back. And yet- you always have the ability for a boundary. You can hide if you want to, but still remain visible and peer out. A closed windows seems more private, but you safely see everything, yourself and everything that is challenging it as well as inviting it.

Below are photos of my sketch book. photoshop mock ups of my concept, and a pinterest photo for inspiration.

Celestial Textures: NASA Mars Photos

NASA's new photos released of Mars' surface provide evidence that nature is truly the basis of all beauty. The color combinations, the organic shapes, the texture of the rock are so breathtaking.

The idea that something far away and inaccessible is capable of being so incredibly captivating yet unattainable at the same time just adds to the mystery. The rock formations inspire the shapes I let the liquid metal collection conform to organically. When I created those pieces letting molten metal do it's thing, free falling in mid air, it connects to the symbolism of NASA's re-discoveries of Mars. Every time, we come back with new exciting features. You never know what you are going to uncover, and it's always surprising. This is how hand made jewelry trumps manufactured pieces in my opinion. You just can't beat that one of a kind touch.
